Last year, Mr Wenn took home the Secondary Principal of the Year and the Secretary’s Award for Overall Excellence categories at the Department of Education RBF Awards for Excellence.
With just a few days left until the awards close for another year, Mr Wenn said he encouraged all schools to nominate their teachers for the hard work they do.
Whenever I talk about my career, all I can think about are the fantastic people I work with.

“We have a highly significant number of teachers who teach, not because of monetary reward, they do it because they have this intrinsic desire to actually do something that is important in the world,” he said.
“The amount of work that is undertaken, both as a requirement and as part of a teacher’s commitment is so much more than it was 30 years ago.
“Whenever I talk about my career, all I can think about are the fantastic people I work with - you get awards because of your colleagues.”
To nominate a teacher or school staff member, visit the Department of Education website. Nominations close on Monday.
