The Supreme Court, in Hobart, heard Jonathan Paul Pearce helped the killer, Darren Michael Dobson, to dispose of Ms Eaton's body at a remote property near New Norfolk in February, 2014.
Pearce had pleaded guilty to one count of being an accessory after the fact.
The court heard Dobson, who was last year sentenced to life in prison for the murder, called Pearce and said he needed help.
Dobson had a broken leg at the time and was unable to drive.
Pearce arrived at the Bridgewater home where Dobson had killed Ms Eaton and drove him to a property at Pelham.
Pearce helped to dig a grave, carried the body down an embankment and helped Dobson bury Ms Eaton.
Justice Tennent said Pearce was prepared to voluntarily help Dobson, despite the court hearing he had previously been assaulted by him.
Pearce is eligible for parole after he has served half of the five year sentence, which was backdated to January 15, 2016.
