Tasmanian artist Richard Klekociuk was at the airport all day, giving out free tickets to the 2016 Glover Prize exhibition for visitors to Launceston.
Klekociuk was also busy working on two artworks, ‘‘colouring in’’ intricate patterns in his makeshift studio.
The artist said he’d enjoyed chatting to those arriving in the city, with many people excited to attend the prestigious art exhibition.
‘‘I’ve already given away a dozen or so [tickets] to visitors,’’ Klekociuk said.
‘‘The people who are interested really grab the tickets and I give them a copy of the book the Glover society has produced as well so they become familiar with what’s happening.’’
The artist was also selling his popular title Not Your Average Adult Colouring In Book – which allowed people to try their hand at colouring in Klekociuk’s intricate designs.
Klekociuk will continue his work on Friday, with many more tourists streaming into Evandale to enjoy all that the Glover has to offer.
