The free event had something for everyone, with food, pony rides and a jumping castle.
Run by the Northern Suburbs Community Centre, the picnic allowed people from across the northern suburbs to band together as a whole.
Centre manager Denise Delphin said the event raised awareness of the centre’s community services, as well as bringing attention to other organisations like Bravehearts, Communities for Children and City Mission.
‘‘It’s about information and networking and that opportunity to get together and find out about what’s out there in the community because sometimes we don’t know that,’’ Ms Delphin said.
‘‘That opportunity for people to come together at a place in their community and to connect with one another.’’
The Picnic and Play in the Park events will continue next year.
