Originally hoping to receive 5000 knitted, crocheted and felted poppies, the 5000 Poppies project has been more successful than anyone could have ever imagined.
After more than two years of work, there are now 800 square metres of poppies ready to be "planted" in tribute to Australian servicemen and women.
The Launceston RSL Women's Auxiliary has come together to create 500 of these poppies, many of which now line their walls in preparation for Anzac Day.
The auxiliary's president Gail Wright said the response to the project had been magnificent.
"Friends knitted poppies, we knitted poppies, relations knitted poppies, everybody's had something to do with it," Mrs Wright said.
"We're not celebrating war by any means, it's basically a remembrance of [the servicemen and women]."
Many of their poppies now hang proudly on a print on the walls of the club to commemorate the Anzac centenary.
Hundreds of locals are expected to stop in at the Launceston RSL on Anzac Day to remember those who were lost in war.
"You will not be able to move in here on Anzac Day and it's getting bigger every year," Mrs Wright said.
