Bicheno and St Marys will host the services, as the state government looks to shift access to health services in rural areas.
As a result, the 2015 schedule for the East Coast has been revised as follows:
- Swansea: Monday, April 13, to Friday, April 17.
- Bicheno: Monday, April 20, to Friday, April 24.
- St Helens: Monday, May 11, to Tuesday, May 26
- St Marys: Wednesday, May 27, Friday, May 29
Residents will be consulted during this year's visits to help work out where best to locate the Mobile Screening Unit for the benefit of all Tasmanians in future years.
Health Minister Michael Ferguson said the additional services would save lives.
"Breast screening can save lives by detecting breast cancer early, so it is vitally important that we work with the communities across the state to find the best ways to improve access to screening services," he said.
Health opposition spokeswoman Rebecca White also welcomed the move.
"The East Coast community has lobbied hard to make sure they didn't miss out on vital services and I was pleased to add my voice to the campaign."
Break O'Day Mayor Mick Tucker said there was a strong presence of breast cancer on the East Coast.
"St Marys District Hospital provides service to 29 women who at present undergoing treatment for breast cancer or have done so within the last 12 months," he said.
"This figure clearly demonstrated the high prevalence of cancer in this area."
Cr Tucker also said he was pleased the government offered the service to the municipality.
"This announcement is a fantastic outcome for the Break O'Day area, especially those women who can now benefit from the service throughout the Valley and encourages all women to make an appointment and attend. It is imperative to support this service to substantiate future visits."
