The day will begin with an awards and citizenship ceremony from 8.30am on January 26 outside the George Town Memorial Hall.
The awards ceremony will recognise community members with presentations for citizen of the year, young citizen of the year and event of the year.
Australia Day ambassador Bernadette Black will attend the ceremony.
Mrs Black has an extensive list of achievements including writing Brave Little Bear, her story of being a teenage mother, and winning Barnados Mother of the Year in 2009.
Mrs Black was also the founding director of the Brave Foundation, is an ambassador for City Mission's Small Steps and works as Special Olympics Tasmania state manager.
The Rotary Club of George Town will host a community breakfast afterwards.
Regent Square will become home to the Family Fun Day from 11.30am and a market will be held in the Graham Fairless Centre.
Activities at the free family fun day include gumboot throwing, sack races, egg and spoon and frisbee throwing.
George Town band 24/7 will provide entertainment and food and refreshment stalls will be on-site.
