The three-day festival, held for the first time this year, saw luthiers, tone wood suppliers and performers gather at the town's Little Theatre to celebrate stringed instruments.
Festival co-ordinator Nick Weare yesterday said he was pleased to announce the event's second-coming, which would feature the intriguing Satsumi Odamura Koto Ensemble, guitarist Michael Fix and "Mr Ukulele" himself, Thom Jackson.
"We want to introduce instruments from other cultures to broaden it a bit," Mr Weare said, speaking about the Satsumi ensemble.
"We're really excited about the Japanese group, I think they'll be fantastic.
"Michael Fix is on-par with Tommy Emmanuel, he and Michael do masterclasses together, he's just a great guitarist — he's better-known in Germany and Europe than Australia."
He said luthiers representing StringFest Tasmania would also hold stalls at next month's Deloraine Craft Fair in a push to further promote the festival.
"Four or five of the luthiers were invited to come to craft fair, there's a Canadian luthier as well," Mr Weare said.
"The weekend of the festival is on at the same time as Hobart's Arts on the Island festival - we're hoping entice visitors from Hobart to the North of the state."
