The New South Wales group, conducted by former Queensland University of Technology choral director Harlie Axford, will perform at the Ross Town Hall on October 1.
All funds raised at the show will be donated to the Ross Fire Brigade.
Each of the choir’s performances — based in Cygnet, Hobart, Launceston and Scottsdale - will benefit each community, according to Axford.
‘‘We don’t want any money, it’s just a good opportunity to have a sing,’’ he said.
‘‘We thought we’d do something a bit different, Tasmania is sort of like going away overseas - its accessible, interesting, there are a lot of interesting place for people e to visit while we’re there.’’
Although Axford likened the challenge of organising his choir to "herding cats" , he said the group’s passion for singing was contagious.
‘‘They’re such a warm group of people,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s quite a good program, we’ve tried to make it a spread of light material but quite demanding vocal stuff.’’
He said songs such as Mack the Knife, Drunken Sailor, Send in the Clowns and medleys of Jersey Boys and Aretha Franklin would be performed.
