Fire crews were alerted to the blaze in Lottah Road just before 6pm,.
No one is believed to have been hurt in the incident and it is unknown what caused the fire. Damage to the property was confined to the roof area.
The Tasmania Fire Service said that a full fire investigation would be carried out today to determine further details.
