A P-plate driver has been caught travelling at 150km/h on the Bass Highway near Burnie last night.
Police say the driver was caught driving at 70km/h over the speed limit - which is restricted to 80km/h for a first-year provisional licence holder.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and will receive an electronic infringement notice, resulting in a large fine and a period of disqualification, police say.
