As part of Wrapped in St Marys, The Cosiest Mug Competition, is being run by Gone Rustic store owner Rita Summers.
Entrants are encouraged to make a cosy and put it around a personal or borrowed mug.
Mugs can be borrowed from the store.
"People can make them wild, wacky and out of any kind of medium," Mrs Summers said.
"The funkier, the better.
"And anyone making cosies can sell them to raise money for Wrapped in St Marys."
People have until June 17 to enter.
All money raised from Wrapped in St Marys, which will be held on July 19 and 20, will go back into the town.
The main event for the festival is a static art display, where power poles will be decorated with textiles.
Event co-ordinator Judy Duckett said there weren't as many entries as previous years, but it would still be a good show.
Cash prizes will be given to winners of four categories; theme, open, group and junior.
The Festival of Voices will also be held in St Marys on the Saturday.
The day will include a free instrument making and music workshop at 10.30am, a free drumming and other percussion instruments workshop at 2pm.
The main event called UNPLUGGED will run from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
It will include local singing groups, and Pete Cornelius, Conceol, and Sarah Darnell and band.
