The meeting was meant to go ahead yesterday but was postponed to allow a representative to attend, and will take place in the Executive Building in Hobart at 10am.
Deputy Liberal leader Jeremy Rockliff and incoming minister Peter Gutwein will attend alongside Mr Hodgman.
Representing the timber industry will be Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association chief executive Jan Davis, Forest Industries Association of Tasmania chief executive Terry Edwards and chairman Glenn Britton, and Tasmanian Sawmillers Association director Shane Rice.
They will be joined by Specialty Timber representatives Andrew Denman and Pav Ruzicka and Australian Forests Contractors Association chief executive Colin McCulloch.
Missing from the meeting will be Jane Calvert, from the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union.
``I think Jane Calvert needs to decide on her own position,'' Mr Gutwein said.
Ms Calvert said earlier this week that the Liberals should meet with the special council, which was established to monitor the success of the peace deal, as a first step.
This includes environmentalists who were signatories to the peace deal, which Mr Edwards, Ms Calvert and Mr Rice had all said were important to engage with.
``We will meet our commitment that we would sit down with the timber industry,'' Mr Gutwein said.
``We'll obviously take our position to the meeting and have a discussion about the best way to rebuild the industry.''
Mr Gutwein said legislative changes were an option and feedback from a meeting with Forestry Tasmania earlier in the week was ``very positive''.
