Miss Universe Australia will hold its first preliminary stage in Tasmania with Launceston's Josie Murray making the trip down.
Ms Murray, 18, has done some modelling before but said she was nervous heading into tomorrow's competition at the Channel Court Shopping Centre.
``It will be a lot about how I answer the questions of the judges,'' the former St Patrick's College student said.
``There is one bikini round, cocktail dress and formal gown and then they have the questions round.
``I think personality has a lot to do with the scoring.''
The winner of the national final will represent Australia at the Donald Trump International Miss Universe Pageant in the US.
Timesless Elegance will supply Ms Murray's costumes for the event, which starts at noon.
