Scott Wayne Evenett, of Ulverstone, and Clint Graeme Stanisz, of Launceston, have pleaded not guilty to trafficking in methyl amphetamine in Launceston in 2011.
Mr Evenett admitted to police that he transported more than 4 ounces of meth from the North-West to Launceston.
He then claimed during his trial in Launceston's Supreme Court this week that he had been paid to take the rap.
Today Counsel Evan Hughes said his client's confession was so unconvincing that the interrogating detective even warned him about it.
However in his closing address crown prosecutor Peter Sherriff suggested Mr Evenett knew more details than he claimed to have been given by the person paying him off.
