According to the latest baby name figures, Norwood's Ruby Lockhart and Rocherlea's Harper Ling possess two of the most popular names for Tasmanian babies.
While Charlotte is the most popular moniker for girls Australia-wide, in Tasmania it is a different story, with Ruby taking out the top position alongside Jack for boys.
These findings come from a report released on Tuesday by demography firm McCrindle Research, which analysed the country's births, deaths and marriages registries.
The report found Harper, Rose and Heidi were this year's fastest rising girls' names, while for boys Braxton and Mason were climbing the ladder.
The report said Harper and Mason were part of the growing trend of celebrity baby names, with singer Pink helping to make Willow popular, Matt Damon pushing Stella forward and Drew Barrymore raising the profile of the name Olive.
Ruby Lockhart's mother, Anika Lockhart, and Harper Ling's mother, Becca Ling, said they were not phased by the popularity of their babies' names."I was pretty certain Ruby would be one of the most popular, but I see it as a good thing, I like the name and its old-fashioned style," Mrs Lockhart said.
