The Tasmanian Fire Service has declared the ban due to its all ready stretch resources not necessarily because ``of bad fire weather''.
``Now is not the time to start any new fires and the public need to make sure any fires lit on their properties over the last week are completely extinguished,'' state fire controller Gavin Freeman said.
Bushwalkers, campers and tourists in rural areas were asked to be particularly vigilant being aware of their surroundings and the need for a plan to relocate if a fire sparked nearby.
The service urged everyone living in the bush to review their bushfire survival plan.

All fires should be reported by dialling ``000''
