That is the mantra of artist and Launceston College head of art Ben Miller who is behind the new stencil art workshop that is being offered through the winter LearnXpress adult education program.
Mr Miller said the idea to offer a stencil art workshop came from a friend in an attempt to attract young people to take up an adult education course.
''This is an art program that doesn't involve water colours and still life and that could be attractive to some younger clients,'' Mr Miller said.
He said that despite his initial interest in ceramics, when he went on to complete a Masters in painting he found a lot of the work he did was multi-layered and involved stencils.
The designs for his stencils come from his own pictures or other sources.
It takes about two hours to design and cut out a stencil and only minutes to spray it and reveal an artwork.
The course will cover modern skills and techniques in producing quality stencils for spray paint or silk screen art.
Mr Miller said stencil art was not about tags or vandalising other people's property but about expressing one self through the art form.
