The jumpers, which feature 'the map' prominently, were available to the 19th AFL club's 185,000 members for a two-week period and closed on April 19.
While the final figure remains unclear, executive director Kath McCann said the club had not been disappointed by the "excellent sales".
"We were not sure what to expect but based on the number of founding members we have, we were confident of some excellent sales, and we have not been disappointed," McCann said.
"A large number of our founding members have purchased foundation jumpers.
"Thousands of jumpers have been sold and are now being produced ready for delivery to members all over the world."
The jumpers have been snapped up in a mix of men's, women's, and youth sizing, McCann said.
It is expected that the jumpers will take between four and six weeks to reach their destinations - including the "many international orders".
"Jumpers will be shipped to many countries including the United States, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Singapore, Dubai, Netherlands, Canada and Germany," McCann explained.
"We cannot wait to see photographs of Tasmania Devils jumpers being worn all over the world."
Members who missed out on a foundation jumper will not have to wait too long to get their hands on Devils' gear, with the club already working on their next drop.
McCann said planning had begun for a range of merchandise items, including traditional pieces and "a few exciting Tasmanian surprises".
"We are really keen to learn from our members what they want from their club, this includes the type of merchandise we offer," she said.
"Over the coming days we will be running some polls to assist us with getting preferences around merchandise items, we are really keen to build a merchandise program that our members want.
"We encourage all of our members to keep an eye out for those polls in our social media platforms and help us build the best merchandise program possible."
