The man was in his 80s living in a residential aged care facility in the state's south. This brings the state's COVID related deaths to 43 since the pandemic began.
The state's total number of active cases is now 9788.
47 people are currently in hospital with COVID, 20 of whom are being treated specifically for COVID symptoms. One person is receiving care in the intensive care unit.
Those people most at risk from COVID-19 are now eligible to receive a "winter dose" or second booster.
This includes those 65 years and over, residents of aged care and disability facilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged 50 and over, and people who are severely immunocompromised.
