The 20-year-old from Launceston collected 25 disposals, three marks, five tackles and four clearances in a starring role in the midfield for the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos in their win over Carlton at Ikon Park.
Coaches Darren Crocker [North] and Daniel Harford [Carlton] were obviously impressed, with King collecting the maximum 10 votes in the AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year award.
It continued an outstanding 2022 campaign for King, who is averaging 11 disposals, 1.5 marks and 3.6 tackles a game. She collected a rising star nomination after a 15-disposal outing against Geelong in round one.
King has played 17 games at the top level.
She wasn't the only Tasmanian to be prominent in the win over the Blues, with leadership group member Nicole Bresnehan, of Clarence, collecting a career-best 15 disposals and Launceston's Daria Bannister kicking two important goals.
Brooke Brown, another Launceston product who played basketball on the Coast, again featured in defence for the Roos, while Ellie Gavalas finished with 18 disposals and 0.1
North is scheduled to play its first game in Tasmania for the season this weekend, hosting premiership fancies Fremantle at North Hobart Oval on Sunday.
The Roos have a 3-0 record in the state's capital, with an average winning margin of 29.6 points.
