Last year's TSLW premiers proved to be too strong, starting with a bang to end the fairytale run of OLs, who were sitting in eighth position on the ladder mid-way through the year.
Coming into the final, they had won seven of their last eight games, but hadn't faced Launceston throughout the season due to their match being cancelled.
Donning their pink strip, Launceston started their attack early, finding the big sticks within the first four minutes through Glenorchy recruit Madison Shaw.
OLs looked like they were going to reply instantly but the home side's defence stood up, counter-attacking for Shaw to get her and Launceston's second major for the day.
Molly Clark piled on another in ominous signs for the visiting Blues but OLs' defence rallied and ensured last year's TSLW premiers wouldn't add to their three-goal first-quarter tally.
OLs began to find their groove early into the second term as neither side stamped their authority on the contest.
Power forward Brie Rattray made up for the tough miss however, taking a massive contested grab before turning around and sealing the deal.
OLs picked up their first points 10 minutes into the second term as a 50-metre penalty put Jade Maynard-Jones in reach of the goals, with her shot ran across the line by a Launceston defender.
Play stayed in the underdogs' half of Windsor Park for a strong portion of the second term but Taylor threatened to break the game open yet again, hitting up Shaw on a lead to get play back on to Launceston's terms.
NTFA FINALS FEVER: Lilydale reserves set the tone for big day with flag win
The NTFAW newcomers held a 25-point buffer at the main break having restricted their opponents to two behinds in the opening half.
Macenzi Lloyd, Jane Astbury and the OLs' defence foiled Launceston's attacks in the first five minutes of the second half, taking strong intercept marks and halting the leaders' run.
OLs created their best chance of the game at registering a major but it flew just right of the goalpost, getting on the board for the third time of the day, staying competitive with their rivals throughout the third term.
The visitors opened the scoring in the last, kicking two behinds to begin to put the pressure on the leaders as dangerous forward Taylah Lehman looked ready to strike.
But Launceston coach Mikayla Binns stood up with several strong marks and runs, as she had throughout the game, setting play up for her followers to run all day.
Blues skipper Dearne Taylor was named best on ground, much to the delight of her teammates and Binns.
"She's amazing, every week she's amazing," Binns said.
"She takes it on and gives 110 per cent, so a massive congratulations to her.
"There's probably four or five girls that could have taken that out today which is awesome as well."
Coming across to the NTFAW after the TSLW dissolved, Binns' Blues lost plenty of top-end talent, making the premiership even more special.
"It's been a tough season, it doesn't just show on the scoreboard, the whole process has been tough and we've come out on top and played really well so I'm super happy," she said.
"We've had to adjust to the rules, we got set rules which is fair enough and we had to find new players, players who had never touched a football before and I think they've really stepped up.
"Those girls today played amazing, not just the girls from TSL last year, everyone really stepped up."
