Dornauf was pleased with his side's intent and structures last week and welcomes back Karlton Wadley for this week's clash against the second-bottom Saints.
"You don't say that when there's only two wins on the board but when they've come so convincingly in wet weather against a team like Scottsdale," he said.
"We are thoroughly impressed with the way they've turned their season around, it's a credit to Anthony Axton, [Shaun] Muller and all the older guys that are putting their hands up, playing really good footy and driving that football club."
George Town coach Adam Zanevra credited the likes of Muller and Luke Crane for adding experienced to the side in their return, contributing to the 139-point turn-around against Scottsdale.
The Saints have collected consecutive victories, taking out Hillwood and Scottsdale, leaping the former to potentially avoid the wooden spoon.
"The guys are full of confidence at the moment so we are just trying to replicate the performances of the past couple of weeks," he said.
After a massive seven changes last week, SCOTTSDALE assistant Lochie Young admitted its pride is on the line this week against Longford.
At the wrong end of the stick against George Town, the Magpies' finals hopes are effectively over.
"We played probably one of our worst games of the year, so it's only up from here for us, we've got a bit of pride to play for especially when we dish up performances like that," he said.
"We've got a few injuries at the moment, but that just creates spots for other people and we just want guys to come in, play their role and we will go into the game giving as much effort as we can."
Longford coach Beau Thorp described last week's tough conditions as "character building" and expects much of the same as he welcomes back Jackson Blair and Ben Murfett.
"It's going to be terrible conditions again but obviously we played last week so we prepare ourselves for similar conditions as last week," he said.
SOUTH LAUNCESTON returns from their bye to face Bridgenorth after the Bulldogs played some of their best football of the year.
Coach Anthony Taylor looks set to debut former Launceston under-age bull Sam Artis while Jake Laskey, Ben Webb and Jack Maher aren't far from returning.
"We are at that time of the year where you just need to keep winning, you are really looking to play as close to your best footy for as long as you can and this week's no different," he said.
The Parrots will be standing in their way, however coach Phil Lethborg is under no illusions to his side's test.
"They are one of the top sides, so it will be a massive challenge and we've got a few injuries so we are a bit battered at the moment," he said.
"But the group is a pretty proud group and they'll fight it out. It's looking like it will be fairly wet again so it just comes down to who wants it more and who is cleaner."
HILLWOOD'S tough run home continues, facing Bracknell on Saturday.
The Sharks won the last quarter against Longford last week, impressing coach Jake Pearce along the way.
"We've got one of the toughest runs home - Bracknell this week, Rocherlea next week - so we are just going to try and enjoy it," he said.
"Enjoy each other's company and things like that and just try to improve and work a bit towards next year."
Bracknell's Corry Goodluck was also pleased with his side's performance last week despite going down to Rocherlea but is looking to get back on the winners' list.
"Hillwood will be looking to knock a few teams off late in the season ... if we don't turn up and play our A-game we could be in for another hard game," he said.
