An elderly man did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on charges of attempted murder and wounding.
The charges relate to an incident at a Zeehan home in June, when two women were allegedly attacked, and suffered wounds to their head, face, and arms.
Richard Andrew Burke of Counsel St, Zeehan appeared via video link.
The 82-year-old told Magistrate Ken Stanton that his legal papers got lost when he was moved from one cell to another.
Legal Aid lawyer Lucy Flanagan sought an adjournment so that an application for legal aid could be addressed.
Mr Stanton remanded Mr Burke in custody until August 2 at 9.15am.
