The man, now 47, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of penetrative sexual abuse of a young person in June 2018.
The jury heard on Monday that the man sold the girl cannabis over a period and started making sexually suggestive comments that would result in a "fair bit of weed without cash".
He offered her cannabis in exchange for sex and she told police she felt pressured.
She told police they had sex in his car after meeting at 3am and he gave her a couple of grams of cannabis.
Detective Senior Constable Phillip Barrett asked the man if he had told the girl that it was a dream come true to have sex with her.
"No," he said. "Have you ever told her that?" he asked.
"I'd say no," the man said. "Were you attracted at all?" he asked.
"No, well not lustfully, I was always very respectful," the man replied.
On Monday, Crown prosecutor Tamila Smith tendered a text message received by the girl which said: "I so want to f*** you right now".
In summing up, Acting Justice David Porter said it was the Crown's case that the man's denial of sexual interest in the girl was a lie told out of consciousness of guilt.
"The Crown says you may take the lie into account that it was told because the accused knew the truth would implicate him in the offending and make it worse for him," Acting Justice Porter said.
In the interview, the man said that he suffered erectile dysfunction which meant that sexual intercourse never occurred in the car.
I've been on Viagra for the last seven years ... so that it was a bit of a stalemate unfortunately.
He told police that the girl had started fiddling around when they were in the back of the car.
"She did go down there," he said. "She went down on you?" he asked.
"Yes because it wasn't working," the man replied.
The man said he was positioned as if to engage in sexual intercourse between her legs but there had been no penetration at all.

The man told police that in August the girl texted him saying she wanted half an ounce of pot or "she would tell you guys".
He said the girl sent him a picture of her "bare arse" and offered to send one of her carrying out a sexual act.
The jury heard that the man's partner assaulted the girl which prompted the girl to go to police.
Acting Justice Porter will sum up on Wednesday morning before the jury retires to consider its verdict.
