Blooding two debutants in Connor Leeflang and Judah Edmunds, the Northern Bombers fielded 12 players with less than 10 games of senior football, something coach Brad Cox-Goodyer is extremely proud of.
"For the boys to grind it out like we did with the side we had in, it was an exceptional effort," he said.
"Hopefully these guys continue to come in if they get their chance to perform and at the moment they are.
After the bye, hopefully we regain probably six or seven walk-up senior players and those boys will go back to development league level and the competition is going to be on for spots, which is a good place to be.
"These boys have stepped up and played senior football and now they can put pressure on regular senior guys to make sure they perform week-in, week-out which is a really strong position to be in."

Like their Northern counterpart, North held its opponents scoreless in the first, leading by 35 points with five different goalkickers.
Lauderdale swung it back to only trail by 16 at the main break but Cox-Goodyer's men held steady in the third, keeping them scoreless again to ensure their 35 points were all scored at the one end.
"We felt a bit flat around the ball in the second quarter when Lauderdale got their run on and they slammed a couple of quick ones on just due to the fact they were getting their hands on the ball at the contest," he said.
"We rectified that and got back on top around the ball, especially in the third and it was definitely a day of possession football, getting the ball forward and being able to defend the ball when you got it forward."
North Launceston captain Jay Foon continued his prolific form for the Bombers, named best on ground and kicking three goals to potentially extend his player of the season lead.
Outside of the skipper, Cox-Goodyer was proud of the young crew around him.
"The debutants were good - Judah Edmunds and Connor Leeflang - they didn't look out of place at senior level," he said.
"Declen Chugg continues to go from strength to strength as a senior footballer, Michael Stingel playing on ball as he's been playing as a defender was really impressive.
"Jay Foon was really good again as well, [he] kicked three goals and found plenty of the footy."
Going into the bye next week with several players under injury clouds, the Bombers welcome the rest before facing Kingborough on June 26.
