The South East Melbourne Phoenix guard became the 29th player in the NBL to start 450 games after his team's 86-66 win over the Taipans.
"It was obviously pretty cool, it doesn't really feel like I've played 450," the 34-year-old said.
"Seeing all the messages, posts and videos from all these different players and coaches on different teams, fans, associations - it was pretty surreal actually."
'Gibbo' Gibson only managed to accrue four points and two assists off the bench, but he was nonetheless amazed with his accomplishment.
"I probably would've played 500 if it hadn't been for so many injuries, but it's definitely flown by," he said.
"I obviously still love what I do, it's still a dream to play in the NBL so to keep ticking some more off will be pretty cool."

Gibson has played with NBL teams the Brisbane Bullets (twice), the now defunct Gold Coast Blaze and South Dragons, the Adelaide 36ers and the Phoenix and represented Australia at the London Olympics.
"I'm definitely at the other end [of my career], who knows how many more I've got in me," he said.
"Ideally, I'd like to play at least one more [season] and see how the body goes after that.
"Obviously, the day-to-day stuff gets a little tough where management comes more into play - but as long as I still love it which I do, and I can competing - I'd love to keep doing it.
"Once the season's done I'll see how it goes and what options are there ... if I'm hurting the team in anyway or holding them back, I'll know when to pull the pin but right now I'm feeling good."
The taste of the NBL action is still fresh on Launceston's palate from the New Zealand Breakers' visit last month.
For young Launceston basketball fans, Gibson couldn't imagine anything better.
"I think it's been unreal - obviously having a team in Tassie next year is awesome, the Breakers have done a phenomenal job taking their games there," he said.
"My family still lives there and they've been going to games and loving it. My nephews and nieces have been just thrilled to be there and watch games.
"It's a great way for the JackJumpers to start off and see other NBL teams and build some momentum going to next season.
"Watching the Silverdome all done up and the games; it's been awesome to watch from afar."
