Shane Newitt brought with him two large pumpkins, with the biggest weighing about 500 kilograms, to onlookers disbelief.
His two pumpkins were part of a number of large pumpkins on display, alongside other large and misshaped vegetables.
Show manager Noel Button said the attendance at the weekend's event at Evandale had been great and the large pumpkins were a draw card.

However, he said they were not the biggest pumpkins Mr Newitt had grown as the state record holder for the biggest pumpkin.
"I think these large pumpkins have been a real draw card, but then also that people are starting to realise that we put on such a lovely display .. the crowd is growing each time we have an event," he said.
"We've got so many different faces popping in, which is great. It has been tremendous.
"This is the first time we've had him [Mr Newitt] come up North, normally he exhibits down south at the Beam Creek Show. So it was an opportunity to get him up here and he's been so delighted.
"He says 'I'm coming up next year'."
The large and misshaped vegetable elements of the society's show are aimed at attracting a new crowd Mr Button said.
"It adds a sense of fun to the whole concept, but I think we're trying to get some young people involved as well," he said.
"So we've got students at some of the primary schools growing giant broad beans."
Next on the agenda for the society is its early Spring show, which features daffodils, and its late Spring show featuring roses, irises and rhododendrons.
