A 35 year old East Devonport man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly discharged in public.

On April 13 at 12.15 pm, police were called to Canning Drive at East Devonport after receiving calls in relation to a firearm being discharged.
Police said in a statement that witnesses reported that a man had exited a vehicle and was seen to shoot a round towards the same vehicle shortly thereafter.
Police responded to the incident and as a result of investigations a man was located at an address nearby inside a garden shed.

Police said that a search of the shed located a sawn off .410 shotgun, along with a small amount of cannabis and methamphetamine.
The 35-year-old East Devonport man was arrested and has been charged with a number of firearms offences.
He has been detained for court and will appear in the Devonport Magistrate's Court later today.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Police thanked members of the public who raised the alarm and assisted the police in relation to the incident.
