ASSISTANT COACH SAYS: "We've picked up a few recruits since 2019 so getting in finals is our main aim to start off with and anything can happen from there," Joe Krushka said.
"The competition has also gotten pretty strong so it will be interesting to see what it's like coming up against those better teams.
"We are really excited to see how we go as a team. I'm sure it will probably take five or six games to get going and see how each other play but we are really keen to see what we go like."
EAST COAST
Coach: Gene Savage
Captain: Lewis Ritchie
Previous results: Third - defeated in preliminary final (2019)

Outs: Pearce Robinson, Michael Murfet, Nick Denholm, Gene Savage, Michael Musicka, Nick Lohrey-Lockwood.
COACH SAYS: "As far as what we've brought in, we tried to recruit around covering some of our losses which were quite significant.
"It's going to be a new side, much like some other clubs in a similar position so we are excited about the group we've assembled.
"One of the exciting things is there is a real connection between some of the guys that have come into the club.
"Several of the guys have played together at Launceston through the development league and senior football before they left there so it's almost an assembling of old friends for a good half a dozen of those guys."

COACH SAYS: "We're unsure of how we are going to go this year and not really setting any expectations.
"We just want to see how the kids play as we have a really young list and from our practice games, they are going to play attacking, fast and exciting footy.
"Our challenge is going to be consistency, we want to keep the gap between our best and worst as small as possible.
"I think we will surprise quite a few teams, we will be around the mark and we just want to be hard to beat."
LILYDALE
Coach: Colin Lockhart
Captain: Corey Lockett
Previous results: Premiers (2019)
Ins: Nick McKinnon, Matt McKinnon, Jack Hulse, Sam Cooke, Calum Aalbregt, Ty Ponting, Jack Venn.
Outs: Robert Blair, Andrew McLean.
COACH SAYS: "We think we are still in what they class as the premiership window.
"We didn't go out and recruit players, they've come into our club, seen how well we are going and want to be a part of it ... they've come for the right reasons and they are very good people.
"We are aiming top two and winning the premiership again.
"They've brought a humbled, professional attitude. They've come in not trying to be the big wigs but they've joined the family basically - it's like having double ups of some players."

MEANDER VALLEY
Coach: Damien Rhind
Co-captains: Joel Holloway and Callum Harrison
Previous results: Eighth (2020 shield), seventh (2019)
Ins: Angus Scott, Lachlan Bellinger, Leigh Chugg, Andrew Kelly, Thomas Luke, Isaac Dingemanse, Casper Johnstone, Brodie Vocke, Taylor Bailey, Logan Nuss, Harry Adams, Jack Ryan, Dylan Wells, Paidyn Davis, Charlie Davis, Toby Davis, Brock Turner, Colin Flower.
COACH SAYS: "The players that we've added to our group are adding more depth so they will give us the ability to cover any losses that we may encounter throughout the year.
"I think as a whole both teams will see improvement and I would like to see another four or five wins on top of 2019, which will put us battling out for that fourth or fifth spot in finals.
"Playing last year was fantastic, it's helped our club by developing a one-club mentality and culture, we are trying to move away from the segregation of teams - including our women's team."
OLD LAUNCESTONIANS
Coach: Laine Cleaver
Captain: Campbell Fraser
Previous results: Seventh (2020 shield), Fifth - defeated in elimination final (2019)
Ins: Jay Schulz, Richard Howe, Jesse Brown, Brady Demeijer, Patrick Power, Jake Goodyer, Mitch Gillam, Tom Chugg, Sam Hughes, Joey Cullen, Pat Kearney, Isaac Pinnington, Ed Kiely.
Outs: Toby Omenihu
COACH SAYS: "We've added a considerable amount of depth to the football club so ... we are hoping to go a lot better than that year.
"On paper we look alright but obviously we've got a lot of new faces at the club so they will take a while to gel, which hopefully can occur.
"We are hoping to go well into finals this year - that's our club expectation and what we are striving for.
"We've got a mixture of guys from very different clubs - from our direct opposition and some from premier division - so we've added depth, experience and some harder bodies to improve our skills across the board.
"In each of our lines we've increased the depth, and in this comp, your bottom-end players prove whether you're a competitive side or not."
ST PATS
Coach: Jake Lowe
Captain: Tom Hilder
Previous results: Runners-up (2019)
Ins: Jake King, Jy Balym, Pat Rodman, Luke Walsh, Tristan Collins, Aidan Collins, Nathan Barry, Elliot Barnes, Josh Bellchambers, Ryan Choveaux, Phil Dikkenberg, Jake Chamberlain, Dylan Morgan, Luke Tepper, Nathan James and others.
Outs: Jacob Knight, Jake Laskey, Jacob Murphy, Julian James, Claye Young, Jacob Perkins, Jacob Parker.
COACH SAYS: "We've definitely recruited really, really well. It's disappointing that a few left and a few have left for reasons outside their control - working away, travelling, injuries.
"We are confident that what we've recruited will cover what we've lost. The top end we probably haven't quite all replaced but our bottom five or six will be stronger than other years, so we've got good depth.
"We'd be disappointed if we didn't finish in the top three. That's where our aim is and that's where they've been the last few years.
"A lot of them have played together before and have played at St Pats, so it's been a really good vibe around the group. We don't have many over 30, so we aren't an old group but we aren't a young group either - we are all in our mid-to-late 20s."
UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA
Coach: Brodie Tiernan
Captain: Ben Arnold
Previous results: Ninth (2020 shield), 10th (2019)
Ins: Adam McDermott, Zach Paul, Lennon Duncombe, Harry O'Keane.
Outs: Brad Tuffin, Zach Spurway-Smith, Leigh Chugg, Tyson Bernes.
COACH SAYS: "We want to win a handful of games but we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves and continue to build.
"Last year, even though the results were average, we were losing to teams that were much better and losing by 100 points rather than losing to teams that were nowhere near the same quality and beating us by 200.
"Last year we probably only had five or six senior players playing and to get some of the results we did was quite good. Sometimes you might lose the scoreboard but there were parts where we played quite well."
