Launceston riders dominated in the annual challenge to race up Hobart's Mount Wellington.

Zac Johnson posted the fastest time of the day (51:49) in the Hobart Wheelers' Kunanyi Challenge to claim the elite men's category from mountain bike world champs representative Sam Fox (53:34) and Hobart's Kaine Cannon (54:04).
Samuel McKee took out the under-17 men's race with a time of 1:01:02 followed by Lachlan Oliver (1:03:28) while the masters women's title also headed north courtesy of Kathryn Woolstone (1:11:52) who was the fastest overall female.
Kristy Grubits (1:15:46) and Gaye Rutherford (1:18:58) completed the masters' podium while Sofia Tsamassiros (1:12:09) won the elite women's race from Oriana Tait-Jones (1:44:26).
Competitors aged between seven and 72 took part. Other winners were: William James (U11), Sid Natera (U15); Felicity Wilson-Haffrenden (U17); Mike Jolly (masters men).
