One of the Greater Northern Raiders' youngest guns has the highest praise for how the program has developed over the 2020-21 season.
Will Bennett is in the middle of his first year with the men's squad and said he was enjoying every minute of it.
"It's been great to be exposed to that standard of cricket and I'm really enjoying the challenge," the 17-year-old said.
"I'm playing against quality cricketers ... it's really good for my development."
Bennett's growth as a player was on full display last weekend in the men's 159-run win against Glenorchy.
The Launceston Church Grammar leg-spinner finished with 4-10 in four overs.
"It was awesome to get a good opportunity with the ball and for Ollie [Wood, captain] to back me in like he's been doing all year," Bennett said.
"I was really happy to take a few wickets and see that hard work rewarded."
Bennett also captained the under-18 Raiders squad to a Cricket Tasmania Premier League vacation title last week.

The tourney was capped off with a resounding seven-wicket win against Lindisfarne.
"It was awesome, we played well all tournament and for the young blokes to get an opportunity at that type of level was amazing," Bennett said.
"We had good depth throughout the tournament right through to the grand final.
"They [Lindisfarne] were able to get on top early and we managed to fight our way back and win comfortably - it was a great experience to captain that side."
Bennett recognised fellow under-18 Raider and Grammar student Aidan O'Connor as someone he believed was ready to make that next step into the men's competition.
"I reckon he's [O'Connor] a really exciting prospect with bat and ball ... he was very dominant in the tournament and one to look out for," he said.
As for his own development, Bennett said state cricket great and Raiders coach Tim Coyle's mentorship was "awesome".
"At the start I was a bit inconsistent with the ball and I was chucked around everywhere in the batting order," he said.
"Now, I've sort of developed into a role I'm really enjoying with the ball and I enjoy contributing to the team's success overall."
