Trevallyn and Invermay played out the game of the round with the end result coming down to the wire.

Lachie Sims got out to a very early lead but world champion Bec Van Asch showed her class along with lead, Dennis Bassett, to overcome the margin and win the rink by five shots to set things up for the Swampies.

Josh Appleyard and Candice Ayton had a tight tussle with Ayton playing many important bowls in the first half of the match.

Eventually it would be Appleyard that would sneak out to a margin of eight shots to turn the tide for the Thunder.

It was all square overall playing the final end on the Michael Sims and Gene Ayton match-up as Ayton led by three. Sean Alderson started things off with a front toucher and from there the head remained unchanged as Trevallyn picked up two shots to snatch the overall result on one rink.

Cosgrove Park picked up two new recruits and still found themselves in a tight tussle with the visiting Beauty Point.

Kane Walker was the difference maker between the two sides as he defeated Paul Cleary by eight shots. The Walker rink featured newcomer Satya Springer who slotted into the lead's position while Scott Stagg was a picture of consistency in the third position.

Byron Slater added to the margin with a solitary one-shot margin over Bruce Howard while Paul Filgate was the one shining light for the visitors as he snuck home over good mate Terence Manion by five.

Kings Meadows hosted Launceston in another close encounter, with the home side just managing to hold on by eight.

The win by Kings Meadows can be credited to the Shane Davern rink who took the Adam Donohue rink to the cleaners, recording a 20-shot win. Aaron Page succumbed to Launceston's fly-in superstar Paul McLean by 10 shots while Adam Gurr kept things close against Rob Antel, going down by two.

The win for Kings Meadows comes at an important time with Invermay narrowly losing to Trevallyn.

East Launceston kept their unbeaten record as they travelled to Bridport and walked away with yet another victory.

Drew Berwick had an extremely good three players in front of him in the form of Ray Boutcher, David Legg and Peter Barrett as they proceeded to dismantle Bridport Mayor Chris Walker to the tune of 21 shots.

David Minns snuck home by two shots over Wayne Churchill to extend the margin while Sam Springer fell at the hands of Mitch Billing by eight shots, giving the home side just two points from the 12 on offer.

In the final game of the round, Longford taught North Launceston a lesson with a whopping 34-shot overall victory.

Mark Strochnetter led the way for the Tigers with a 24-shot demolition of Nick Claxton.

Daniel Baker's rink wasn't too far behind them as he accounted for Nick Webb by 15 shots to put the overall result beyond doubt.

Jarrod Howard lost his first rink in quite some time as Rod Zoon continued his rich vein of form, defeating the Longford superstar by five shots.
