Batting first, the Raiders put up a decent total thanks to their inaugural captain. Barnard struck himself a century, finishing with 113 runs off 139 balls including six fours.

Captain Oliver Wood said Saturday's performance by Barnard was indicative of his overall value to the side.

"Everyone in the room was absolutely over the moon for him to be honest," he said.

"He's the heart and soul of this team and without blokes like him, we wouldn't be doing what we're doing. We're very happy for him that's for sure."

Barnard was able to get some help in the middle order from young-guns Spencer Hayes (48) and Cooper Anthes (50).

"We were in a bit of trouble early on there going 3-20, so to see Spencer really graft out an innings for the team was just brilliant," Wood said.

"Cooper's actually finished off a couple of innings superbly for us - the fact he's able to go out there really shifted the momentum from 210 to over 250 and set a really good score."

Glenorchy could only stomach 23 overs before falling 159 runs short due to dominant bowling by the Raiders.

This included Will Bennett (4-10), Sam O'Mahony (2-12) and Anthes (2-17) again.

"Bennett was given a massive responsibility here bowling into a massive wind ... the way he bowled how he did into that was awesome," Wood said.
