
A house was destroyed by fire at Mathinna in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Emergency services were called to the house on Tyne Road, at the southern end of Mathinna, about 1.50am.
A Tasmania Fire Services spokesperson said the house was "fully involved" when crews arrived and the occupant was attempting to protect surrounding property including sheds.

The house was completely burnt to the ground, he said.
Fire investigators determined that the fire was accidental.
The damage to the property - described as a rural farming property, with the house built in the 1980s - was estimated to be $100,000.
There were no injuries reported.
The TFS was also called to a minor fire incident on Holbrook Street, Invermay, just after 1am.
A fire on the outside of the property had entered an internal cavity and caused damaged to a bathroom. The cause was deemed accidental.
