This figure represents 20 fewer businesses that were in receipt of the payments in the peak month of June.
There were 1721 businesses on the subsidy in central Launceston.
IN OTHER NEWS:
There were 388 businesses in the Kings Meadows area on the payment and 342 businesses in the Mowbray area.
The federal government had previously announced from September 28 the JobKeeper payment would be targeted towards businesses that had been most significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This involved changes to the eligibility criteria as well as reduced payments.
The subsidy fell from $1500 to $1200 a fortnight at the end of September.
It will be reduced to $1000 a fortnight between January and March.
The subsidy is scheduled to finish up at the end of March.
