The NWBA were sitting pretty heading into the final round of play, requiring one victory to regain the trophy but the NTBA had other ideas, sweeping the final round to steal the title 14 matches to 13.
North's victory means the Hingston-Young Cup, named after prominent badminton families from either region, has been won by both sides twice in the four-year history of the tournament - making for a huge match-up next year.
Played over 27 matches, the competition features three rounds of six doubles matches and a round with six singles and three doubles played.

Brent Munday's North-West side started strong, with two 4-2 round victories starting setting the tone on their home courts.
Singles competition was then split three matches all but then the North-West claimed the adjoining doubles 2-1 to establish the almost-unbreakable 13-8 lead.
Multiple final round contests went down to a golden-point final game with Li Hong Chew and Scott Viney beating Munday and David Jones while Leigh Cornwell and Paul Kwok did the same to Scott Johnson and Sam Wells.
Regular big-game performer Bryce Camino was the standout for the North, winning all four matches as Frankie Li, Louis Lee, Tom Bo and George Peters all claimed three.
For the North-West, multiple players won three of their contests as Jones, Munday, Adrian Loane, Stephen Gale, Cam Allen and Scott Johnson achieved the feat.
Coastal legend Des Hingston and multiple-time national champion Darren Young were in attendance as the event paid tribute to their families' contribution.
