Footage of the brawl which was captured on the hotel's CCTV and uploaded to YouTube went viral in January, prompting calls from the community for everyone involved to be charged.

On Thursday, Tasmania Police confirmed the men, three of whom are Tasmanian, had been charged for their involvement in the brawl.

Three men, aged 36, 28 and 26, from Victoria, a 35-year-old man from Western Australia, two 36-year-old Tasmanian men and a 37-year-old Tasmanian man were charged with behaving in a violent manner and destroying property.

The brawl, which has been viewed millions of times on various social media video platforms, showed at least 10 men engaged in the brawl.

It begins as one man throws a punch on an unsuspecting punter, and despite the efforts of some bystanders to calm the situation, it quickly erupts in to an all-in brawl

Pool balls are thrown, pool cues are used as weapons, tables and chairs are damaged and at one point some unknown object falls from the ceiling.

It has now been more than six months since the brawl occurred and the footage went viral.

It is understood the COVID-19 pandemic hampered the police investigation.

In May, Tasmania Police Detective Inspector Rob Gunton said no members of the public had made complaints to police.

"While no complaints of assault have been made from anyone involved or present, the matter has been actively investigated since police became aware of the alleged incident," Detective Inspector Gunton said.

At the time, he said Tasmania Police was liaising with other police jurisdictions on the mainland, and indicated several suspects had been identified.

It is not yet not known if police expect to press more charges.
