Heritage Tasmania chairperson Brett Torossi said the entry recognised the site's importance and contribution to Tasmania's brand and visitor economy.
"In 1999 two individual entries ... were permanently listed in the Heritage register," he said.
"Since then the site has undergone major development, transforming into MONA, an internationally acclaimed cultural tourism site.
"MONA is Australia's largest private museum and art galley, and an evolving cultural and agricultural site."
