Not that the interruption from coronavirus has done Whyte any favours reaching 100 games for the Blues.
The former Brooks High student was well aware she has been left stranded on 98 games for the better part of 10 months while the TSLW remained in serious doubt.
There was even a fear she may have to commit early to 2021 to surpass the mark.
"I was a bit worried, I must admit. I have been like as long as we play two games, I really don't care how long the season goes for," she said.
Whyte against Tigers on Saturday will be the second Launceston woman to run out 100 times in the TSLW.
Blues playing coach Angela Dickson was the first two years ago this weekend.
Whyte has battled on hard since she had debuted for the club initially back in 2012.
"It definitely does make it a bit more special," she said.
"On top of the unknown really, whether the season was going to go ahead or not and that it is after everything happening with Covid.
"I have felt it has taken me a lot of time to get there, but finally I am there and I am pretty happy about it."
Not surprisingly that the 2017 TSL grand final win over Glenorchy is the game that stands above all other 99.
"I like we kind of went in as the underdogs and it was an unbelievable win that I will never forget," Whyte said.
"We just had a really good side, we were all connected and we are hoping to do that again this year."
But go back one game and it's the heartbreaking loss in the 2019 decider that hurts.
The pain of the side's first vague sign of defeat last year is almost cathartic now.
Whyte is no longer bitter of Clarence's upset, but takes a more holistic approach in the calm light of day.
"It was a turning point for me with my football because I just looked at myself at the end of that grand final and just thought that I'm better than that," she said.
"So I've been trying hard in the offseason with Ange, Daria [Bannister] and some of the girls, really running hard with them well because they have pushed me."
Launceston take on the season underdogs at Kingborough since Lauderdale withdrew from the TSLW competition this year.
Tigers also have yet to hit the ground after a bye, but Whyte felt the Blues had to blow out the cobwebs hard against North Launceston in the 26-point home victory.
"It was a good win, but there's always room for improvement. It was pretty wet last week and we had to go back to basics to get goals on the scoreboard," she said.
