More than $24,000 has already been raised for vulnerable people in Northern Tasmania through The Examiner's winter relief appeal.

Money raised from the appeal supports the Benevolent Society, St Vincent de Paul, The Salvation Army and City Mission.
More than $17,000 of the $24,000 which has been raised was donated as part of Andrew Palmer's Cha Cha Charity event.

Trevallyn Newsagency owner Frank Piscineri, who's store is helping raise money for the appeal, said the store was proud to support the cause.
"We think it is a fantastic cause for the needy and so do a lot of my customers who come in," he said.
"I think it is something that people don't mind contributing to because it goes directly to the needy.
