Launceston's basketballers won't be any worse off for the coronavirus period, says the game's Northern development officer Brad Kann.

Sport players and coaches statewide are slowly returning to group training after being confined to individual or pairs sessions over the past few months.
Basketballers in the North have had the extra challenge of managing without their main complex, with Elphin Sports Stadium now several months into a stint as a coronavirus testing facility.
Nevertheless, Kann believes players will be better than ever when competitive matches resume next month.

"lt's definitely been challenging having to balance everything for the athletes and making sure they have what they need to continue to progress their skills as players," the 26-year-old said.
"There's definitely areas where we can't just access development for them, so obviously gameplay and things like that.
"But a lot of them have taken huge strides forward in other areas that they're able to dedicate time to now, so athletes have really specified their speed and their agility and vertical leap and have taken massive strides forward in that.
"There's been a lot of players dedicate extra time to their basketball skills - their ball handling, their passing, their shooting form and a lot of them are taking greater strides forward in their individual game which hopefully will benefit them in the long run once we get playing."
Basketball Tasmania will use the Silverdome and school facilities while Elphin is out of action.
