Who's impressed: "Will Geysing has massively impressed me, he looks like he's had a bit of a breakout summer - got himself really fit and he's real hard running. Tom Maddock is the same, he's a really hard runner with really good skills. Lachie [Duncan] is looking good coming back, he's got himself really fit and looking well," Tiernan said.

"A couple of the core guys from last year like Chino (Liam Guardia) and Yo-Yo (Brad Tuffin), they've been good too."

Coach says: "I think we lost a few good players from last year which sucks a bit but we've tried not to focus on that and work with what we've got and see who we can get in to fill the holes.

"We are going to try and set ourselves some benchmarks and look at who we can beat and who we can't. We had a rough idea obviously before this virus happened but now that we have no idea what the roster is going to look like it's a bit difficult.

"We want to get rid of being beaten by 200 or 100 points and be competitive in all of our games and try and win games that we think are winnable.

"We want to have that attitude for every game but obviously there are going to be teams out there that are pretty skillful and won't be able to match it. A couple of wins would be nice.

"[Renaming our club to University of Tasmania] is going good and it's a good talking point for people, being pretty big news.

MORE FOOTBALL:

"It's a bit hard at the moment, obviously we can't do anything at the moment with football because it's all been shut down but hopefully as soon as we can start to do things again, we can really push it.

"It's sort of hurt us a little bit this year that a lot of interstate players or guys that were going to come from interstate have opted to stay home and study online so we actually can't get them to come and train with us at the moment and hang around with the guys that are already there."
