Bridport was down to host ladder leaders Invermay, however, mother nature played its part and the game was called off.
This opened the door for Longford to jump into first place. Jarrod Howard was the big winner, as he romped home over Michael Oliver by 23 shots. Daniel Baker continues his scintillating form, as he registered a 12 shot win over Joe Hardacre. Mark Strochnetter completed the three rink route with a narrow win over Bruce Howard.
East Launceston hosted Trevallyn in the game of the round, with the result going down to the final end. Michael Sims' rink flew out of the blocks to establish a 13 shot lead over Aaron Page midway through the game. Trevallyn's lead soon closed, as the rinks skipped by David Minns and Drew Berwick rallied for the home side. Minns eventually getting the better of Scott Summers by 16 to put the Vikings in the driver's seat.
Berwick led by as many as 10 over Lachie Sims but Sims fought hard late to eventually run out 2 shot victors.
Michael Sims' rink bridged the gap, as they held a 14 shot lead with the final two ends to play, however, could not go on with the job as they lost five shots on the last two ends to hand East the overall victory.
The fight for finals and the relegation battle is heating right up ...
Kings Meadows kept its finals hopes alive with a 10 points to 2 win over Westbury. Shane Davern has been the form player of the competition and this was no exception as he stormed home to win by 19 over Les Watts with the entire rink playing well. Shane Gurr snuck home by two shots over Julian frost with both skips having multiple conversions go their way on top of star lead performances from Judy Gurr and Barry Roberts. Anthony Lowery did his best for Westbury, with a 13 shot win over Chris Davern but it wasn't enough to threaten the overall.
Burke Turner the best on ground here for Westbury as they battled hard all day to give them a chance.
North Launceston recorded an eight shot win over Cosgrove Park to help them in their relegation battle. Jeffery Miller was the star for North Launceston - his 15 shot win over Wayne Foster setting up the overall win for North. Kane Walker and Byron Slater both recorded rink wins for Cosgrove Park but both were narrow margins and failed to cover the deficit, handing North a one rink overall victory in a vital game.
With only three games left, the fight for finals and the relegation battle is heating right up and the result is sure to go down to the wire.
