A 32-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly robbing the Mood Food Grand Central on Friday armed with scissors.

Police allege the Launceston man entered the store about 10pm on December 27.
The man approached a staff member with a pair of scissors and demanded money, police said, before leaving the store with a small amount of cash.

"Police would like to thank members of the community who assisted in the matter, and would like to take the opportunity to inform the public that this is an isolated incident and that the male was acting alone," a police spokesperson said.
No one was injured during the incident.
The man will appear in an out of hours court session.
