Two female passengers on the Spirit of Tasmania were caught with $500,000 worth of methylamphetamine on Wednesday night, Tasmania Police allege.

Police say a 42-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman were exposed by police drug detector dog Bernie.
The women were arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
They are scheduled to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on February 3.
Detective Inspector Kate Chambers said the seizure of more than 700 grams of ice took away 7020 street deals.
"Illicit drug use is a concern for all Tasmanians," she said.
"We see the impacts not only on the user but also their families, friends and the community as a whole."
She said Tasmania Police drug, firearm and explosive detection dogs were used to screen passengers, baggage, cargo, vehicles and mail that arrive in the state.
Detective Inspector Chambers said the Australian Border Force used state of the art x-ray machines to screen baggage and cargo.
Police seized 3136 grams of ice in 2018-19 - an increase of 1398 grams on the year before.
The quantity of the drug seized was second to cannabis.
There were 1088 grams of ice seized in the North and 926 in the North-West.
There were 130 serious drug offenders charged by police in relation to ice over the previous financial year.
Of that, 54 were from the North-West.
The amount of ice seized in the North-West over 2018-19 almost doubled on that seized the year before.
There were 39 serious drug offenders charged by police in relation to ice in the first three months of this financial year with nine offenders from the North-West.
Police seized 566 grams of ice over this period.
The recent drug detection was part of Operation Gateway which started on December 12.
