The St Helens Surf Angling Club held its mini carnival on Saturday, October 5.
President Vaughan Oldham said it was a great day.
"With sunny sky our dedicated anglers prepared to try their skills with over 50 entrants," he said.
Mr Oldham said the fish were not over plentiful, but with the tide coming in some anglers were able to snag a catch.
The event ran from 9.30am to 3.30pm, with prizes up for grabs for the biggest fish caught.
Best fish went to Tyler Aram and best junior was Ryan Roberts.
Mr Oldham said overall it was a successful event with great weather.
He said he looked forward to seeing it all again at the club's championships on May 2 and 3.
