Having represented the Boomers at the 2014 World Cup, Goulding came agonisingly close to medalling in Rio before winning Commonwealth Games gold in 2018 alongside fellow ex-West Launceston Primary student Lucas Walker.
The Melbourne United guard was named in the Boomers' final 12-man squad on Wednesday, and will line up in a star-studded team featuring NBA talents Matt Dellavedova, Joe Ingles and Patty Mills when Australia shoots for its first-ever World Cup medal next month.
"We've got a desire to do really well at the upcoming games and tournaments," Goulding told his club website.
"We've been through the heartache of a medal game loss and we've injected some new guys in with youth and athleticism.
"It's all going to be about how we come together and buy into the system over the next four to six weeks."
Andrej Lemanis' Boomers will be without several big-name players in China with NBA trio Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and Dante Exum all unavailable.
Their absences won't do anything to change Goulding's game, however, with the 30-year-old firmly focused on a team-first role regardless of who his teammates are.

"It's not about coming in and trying to score 20 or 30 points; it's can I be competitive on the defensive end, can I lead with my voice and try to knock down shots or provide a little bit of offensive spark wherever that needs to be filled," he said.
"For me, it's treading that fine line of jacking up too many shots and then fitting into the offence."
The Boomers will meet Team USA for two friendlies in Melbourne later this month before kicking off their World Cup campaign against Canada at Dongguan Basketball Centre.
