For the uninitiated, Ball Park Music's style can be summed up in the title of their latest album, Good Mood. And the five-piece are bringing the good mood to 20 Australian venues on a regional tour, including to the Saloon Bar on Thursday, May 30.
But guitarist Dean Hanson said there would be plenty of fan favourites thrown in among their new releases.
"We've been rehearsing some songs we've never played live before and also some brand newies mixed in with all the old hits," he said.
"We're expecting it to be a sweaty, high energy affair where everyone can escape the bitter Tasmanian winter."
With a career spanning over 10 years, Ball Park Music are still hitting home runs, with Good Mood voted the number one album of 2018 by Triple J listeners.
But it's live music the band really loves, said Hanson, and especially when they can play for their hardcore Tassie fans.
"We love Tasmania," he said.
"One of my fondest memories is of two kids who couldn't get in to an 18+ gig at the Republic Bar in Hobart standing outside on the street watching through the window.
"We played a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody and they were head banging so hard, it was incredible."
- Ball Park Music play the Saloon Bar on May 30 at 8pm. Tickets $55.10 via Oztix.
