A 28-year-old Mayfield man has been charged with possessing stolen property, drug, and firearm offences after a police raid last week. Jake Anthony Mullins appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on May 10. During the raid at a Mayfield house on May 9, police found power tools and camera equipment they believed were stolen. Three firearms allegedly belonging to the accused - a .22 Stitz, a .222 Brno and a .22 homemade rifle - were also discovered. In addition to a number of firearm-related offences, Mr Mullins was charged with two counts of possessing a shortened firearm in relation to the .22 Stitz and the homemade rifle. Mr Mullins was not required to enter a plea. He was remanded to reappear on May 21.
